Oyi/Ayamelum 2023: Why I’m Supporting Lady Maureen — Ogene Ndigbo

Posted on April 12, 2022

The National President of Anambra Independent Media Support Organization, Dr. Harris Chuma-Odili, popularly known as Ogene Ndigbo, has said his decision to support the election of Lady Maureen Gwacham the APGA frontline aspirant  for Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency was not because he wanted to feather his political nest but because Maureen remained the best aspirant at the moment.

In an exclusive interview with ABS Reporter in Anambra, Dr. Harris Chuma-Odili said majority of Ndi Oyi/Ayamelum were ready to elect her, adding that those who were opposed to Maureen’s House of Reps bid were either afraid of her political sagacity, or saw her as a stumbling block to the realization of their own political ambitions.

According to Dr. Chuma-Odili, Ndi Oyi and Ayamelum generally are satisfied with the rich profile of Maureen and her robust manifesto and would give her their votes overwhelmingly if she clinched the APGA ticket, and seeks election in 2023.

“I strongly believe that Lady Maureen have all that it takes to move Oyi/Ayamelum constituency forward. I believe in Lady Maureen and as far as we are concerned, she remains the best and right person for the plumb job. It is not a cause we are pursuing to realize our ambition. It is about our confidence in Maureen; she is the best bet for now” Dr Chuma-Odili said.

Asked what Maureen could say were her achievements upon which she would anchor her 2023 campaign, he said that Maureen is an employer of labour, a super player in the hospitality industry, a successful business woman, great philanthropist, and a notable good governance advocate. “Maureen has made tremendous success as an entrepreneur. She is well experienced, educated and quite exposed to legislative affairs. A thoroughbred politician with unblemished character both in private and public life”.
