There was panic Thursday afternoon as an unidentified elderly woman of about 75 years slumped at the first floor of the Igbosere Magistrate Court Lagos after climbing the staircase to the first floor of the court to the surprise of the litigants

Following the unfortunate development, the chief security officer at the court, Mr. Lateef Bello raised an alarm which attracted his colleagues and other litigants who rushed at the victim to rescue her, but instead the victim passed out urine and started shivering on the ground.

When the victim could not talk or stand on her feet for about one hour, the commissioner for oath at the court Mrs. O.A Mustapha went to the Lagos high court on Igbosere Road Lagos Island to bring a Toyota Hiace Bus with the inscription (Lagos State Judiciary Probate Registry) with Registration Number No: EL822LSD to convey the   victim to the Lagos Island General Hospital for treatment

The identity of the victim as of the time of writing this report was not known as there was nothing on her to identify her.

Sympathisers who spoke about the incident at the court said the victim must have slumped due to exhaustion in climbing the staircase at the court.

They therefore appealed to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode to rehabilitate the two lifts at the court to assist elderly people in accessing the 22 court room at Igbosere Magistrate Court Lagos.

According to a litigant who was in tears and identified herself as Mrs. Sade Ibukun, “if the two lifts at Igbosere magistrate court were functioning, the old woman would not have slumped.

“Governor Ambode has done his best in the rehabilitation of Igbosere Magistrate Court Lagos in recent time but he should please complete his achievement by rehabilitating the two broken down lift in the court,” she appealed.
