Pastor sentenced to live in prison for raping and impregnating his 14-year-old in-law

A clergyman, Pastor Ofure Rey Siakpere, will now spend the rest of his life in custody for raping his wife’s 14-year old sister about 15 times and impregnating her in Lagos State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the 38-year old, Pastor Siakpere, was on Wednesday  19th January, 2022, sentenced to life imprisonment without any option of fine, by an Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court.

The incident happened in March 2018 at his residence located at No. 10, Salaudeen Imam Street, Lagos, when he was 35-years old and lived with the victim. He reportedly took advantage of her being under his roof to rape her several times, which eventually resulted to pregnancy and the whole thing got exposed.

The abuses were later reported to the Police and he was arrested. He was detained for interrogation and was supported by his wife, who claimed that her husband could not have done such a thing as a Pastor.

However, the victim insisted and narrated how it all happened with witnesses. After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged before the Court for the alleged offence under the Lagos State Laws.

During the trial in Court, the victim narrated how she was overpowered and defiled at least 15 times by Pastor Siakpere, who is married to her aunt.

Pastor Ofure Siakpere, who may now spend the rest of his life in jail, was quite active on Twitter before he was charged to Court and jailed for rape.

His Twitter bio speaks of his love for God and has the hashtag #God-fearingteam and “Jesus Christ” boldly displayed on his Twitter account.

Despite the victim’s testimony in Court, the convict and his wife countered her claims and the convict continued to maintain his innocence.

However, the Presiding Judge, Honorable Justice Abiola Soladoye, ruled that the prosecution proved their case beyond any reasonable doubt and also brought in witnesses, who gave “compelling and convincing” accounts.

Asides being sentenced to life imprisonment with no option of fine, the convict’s name will also be registered in the Sex Offenders Register of the Lagos State Government.
