The Road To MAMA Lagos edition held on Sunday, 2 October with top artistes including Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, AKA, Casper Nyovest, Emtee, others were revealed as nominees for the MTV Africa Music Awards 2016.

The final round of nominations which was announced at the Hard Rock Café, Lagos during the Road to MAMA concert featured pulsating performances from YCee, Patoranking, Simi, Koker, South African hip hop act, Nasty C as well as a surprise performance from MAMA nominee, Olamide .DJ’s  for the night were DJs Xclusive, DJ TTB,DJ Hazan, DJ Kaywise, DJ Consequence and the GGB Dance Crew,

Hosts for the event were MTVBase VJ Ehiz and City FM’s Sensei Uche.
