Police Arrest 2 Robbers With Gun During Operation

The security strategy of the Commissioner of Police, Mr Hakeem Odumosu, may be working really following the arrest of suspected armed robbers by Police operatives from Ikotun Division in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Divisional Police Officer, Ikotun Division, CSP Adagba Johnson, personally led the operation after motorcycle robbers stormed the area to rob at about 3pm.
The incident happened at Cele Egbe area of Ikotun, where the dreaded armed robbers struck to rob people in the area.

They suffered serious set back as the Police foiled their operation, arrested them and recovered arms during the operation.
Unknown to the bandits, the Police had mapped out strategy that made them not to escape as the two suspects were arrested and their operational motorcycle with a single short gun recovered as exhibits.

The identities of the arrested robbers were not disclosed by the Police because the DPO was not around when PM.EXPRESS correspondent visited the station to verify the information about their arrest. The DPO was said to have gone for routine monitoring in the area but sources at the station confirmed the arrest and told our reporter that the suspects have been transferred to the FSARS in Ikeja for further investigation.

The arrest of the suspects attracted wild jubilation in Egbe area where the incident happened as the information spread. Some of the residents who spoke to P.M.EXPRESS said that the motorcycle robbers had been operating along the road robbing innocent people especially those who went to Ikotun Market and the banks around at different times with serious threats.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bala Elkana, could not respond to confirm their arrest. However, the Police sources from SARS confirmed the incident and said that the suspects had already confessed and mentioned their other gang members.

According to the residents, the Police have been putting effort to stop all form of criminal activities in the area and that was why they have decided to always provide credible information to the Police for effective performance in the area.
