Police Arrest Notorious Gang Leader, Totoritor & Rescue 3 Abducted Victims Chained Inside House

Police operatives from the Anambra State Command have arrested a notorious gang leader, Onyeka Aduba, popularly known as Totoritor, and equally rescued three abducted victims he had chained to building pillars in his compound at Umuohi Village, Okija town, Ihiala LGA of the State. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Police also arrested two suspected members of his gang, Okika Chukwujekwu, 31, and Sylvester Okorie Ikwuanusi, 55, in connection with the abduction and suspicion of committing various crimes and are undergoing interrogation.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, on Sunday 16th July, 2023, who stated that the suspects were undergoing interrogation over the alleged criminal activity in the State.
DSP Tochukwu said:
“Men of the Anambra State Police Command have rescued three abducted citizens chained to building pillars by insurgents inside the compound of one Onyeka Aduba alias Totoritor at Umuohi Village, Okija, on Sunday July 16, and  two suspects identified as Okika  Chukwujekwu, 31, and Slyvester Okorie Ikwuanusi, 55, were arrested for interrogation”.
‘’The feat followed the confession made by the notorious gang leader, popularly known as ‘Totoritor’ who was arrested earlier and had been in Police custody. He was positively identified on 6th July, 2023, by a victim with gunshot injury before he was arrested.”
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the rescued citizens have been kept incommunicado and chained to pillars in the above-mentioned compound for weeks before their rescue. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the other fleeing members of the gang.”
‘The Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has urged the good people of Anambra State to disregard propaganda by outlawed groups and continue to partner with the Police and other security agencies in the State to restore peace to Anambra State.
The Police boss encouraged members of the public to report suspicious persons and unusual movement they may observe to the nearest Police Station or through the Command Emergency number 112 or call 07039194332 for  prompt response.

He also stated that the suspects will be charged before the Court for the alleged criminal offence but that will be after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
