Police Arrest Tortoise, Armed Robbery Suspects During Operation

It was a success story in combating crimes for the past one month in Lagos State Command following the arrest of a tortoise suspected to be used by armed robbers during operations in the state. 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that apart from apprehending the tortoise, four other suspected armed robbers were also arrested while others fled. The Police also recovered assorted weapons during the operation, which lasted for several hours in Ojo area of Lagos. 

This was disclosed by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police,  CP Abiodun Alabi, at the State Command, where some suspects arrested across the state were paraded. 

The Police boss stated that the suspects paraded were arrested for various crimes committed including armed robbery,  conspiracy, cultism, unlawful possession fire arms, murder and others.  

The feat was achieved by the security strategy put in place since he took over as CP Lagos State few months ago. 

CP Alabi stated that on 10th May, 2022, at about 9pm, based on available information, a team of detectives from the Lagos State Command swung into action and arrested some armed robbery suspects in their hideout at Ojo area of Lagos. 

The suspects were Gambo Abdullahi, 28, Eric Komi,19, Yusuf Ibrahim,15 and Suleiman Alhassan, 25.
During the operation, the tortoise, 7 locally made pistols, 68 live cartridges, cutlasses, axes, charms, 4 mobile phones and female handbag were recovered. 

CP Alabi stated that investigation is ongoing to apprehend the other fleeing suspects in connection with the matter and recovering of more arms and ammunition. 

He assured the Lagosians that the security of lives and property of the residents of Lagos remains the top priority of his vision for Policing in the State. 

He said that suspects will be charged before the Court but that will be after the conclusion of the investigations.
