Police Bursts Fake Assorted Drinks Factory In Ajegunle, Lagos

The police have uncovered a small room factory in Ajegunle, Lagos where fake assorted expensive drinks are produced with strange chemicals for distribution to unsuspected consumers.
Among the drinks discovered are Hennessy, Ciroc Vodka, Absolute Citron, Grey Goose Vodka, Nuvo Dry Gins and others.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered the police, acting on tip-off, one of the suspects, Desmond Opara was arrested.
On further investigation, it was discovered the suspects and others now at large use a small room as factory where they manufacture the drinks and distribute to unsuspecting customers before it was discovered.
The adulterated drinks were seized and taken as exhibits to the station.
Opara was charged before Apapa Magistrate’s court with conspiracy and in possession of fake drinks.
He pleaded not guilty.
Our correspondent learnt that the suspects buy empty bottles of those drinks, mixed some chemical solutions and pour it inside the bottle and cock it for sales.

The suspect admitted it was an adulterated drinks and explained that it was not harmful for human consumption.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr M.A. Etti granted Opara bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect the bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 13 February 2017.
