It was jubilation all through in Alimosho Local Government area of Lagos State after the residents trooped to the Ipaja Police Division to confirm the arrest of dare devil armed robbery gang that had been terrorizing the area for a long time.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Police operatives from Ipaja Division led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Tokunbo Aboniwonda, crushed the gang during operation. The Police team arrested two of the suspects, one escaped while a short gun and two motorcycles were recovered as exhibits.

The suspects, identified as Adisa Aderibigbe, 25 and Seun Isaiah, 25 a.k.a Omotesoju, which means fire, left their house at 27 Aboqunloko Asejere area of Ikotun and joined their gang member, one Akeem a.k.a AK, in Ayobo with their guns and operational motorcycle around 5 am.

According to the residents, they had succeeded in robbing many residents in Ayobo then moved to Ipaja  and continued their operations.
However, they were unlucky for not knowing the security strategy put in place in Ipaja by the DPO, CSP Aboniwonda, in line with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu.

Before they could rob some houses, they were apprehended by the Police, who disarmed them, recovered their gun and two motorcycles including the one they had robbed the owner.

This was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who said that the two suspects are in Police custody undergoing interrogation.

When P.M.EXPRESS reporter visited Ipaja Police Division, the DPO could not be reached as she was said to have accompanied the CP to the scene of the gas explosion in the area.

However, Police sources said that the suspects will be transferred to the FSARS, Police Command at Ikeja for further investigation.

The arrest of the suspects has been attracting commendations from the residents, who noted the manner the Police promptly responded at 2.am  which led to the arrest of the suspects.
They however, regretted that the Police did not allow them to lynch them on the spot rather the Police rescued and took them to the Station while intensifying efforts to arrest Akeem now at large.
