There appeared to be no hiding place for armed robbers in Lagos State following the recent recovery of a bag containing their weapons with which they had attempted to carry out robbery operations.

The incident happened at Royal Garden Estate in Ajah area of Lagos where the suspects were said to have prepared to carry out robbery operations.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the dare-devil armed robbers had prepared for night operations and brought out their armoury bag containing assorted weapons kept for the operations.
However, they were forced to dump their bag containing arms and fled when the police intercepted them.

According to the police, items recovered inside the bag were one AK47 rifle with serial number O775 containing live ammunition, one pump action gun with serial number, P111574, unexpended cartridges and others.

It was gathered that a team of police officers were on routine surveillance in the neighbourhood with their patrol van and suspected the bag which the suspects had. When the police accosted them, they quickly dropped the bag and fled. The police then searched the bag and discovered the weapons neatly parked inside. The bag was recovered as exhibit and taken to Lagos State Police Command at Ikeja, Lagos.

The identities of the suspects were not yet known and the police was said to be on the trail of the suspects who were on the run.

This was confirmed by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Imohimi Edgal who said that the police will surely get the suspects. The police boss had earlier warned robbers to relocate elsewhere as the Command will not tolerate any form of criminality in the State including cultism.
