Police Inspector Dismissed & Arraigned In Court Over Murder Of Musician

The Enugu State Police Command has concluded the orderly room trial of Police Inspector, Ozonwanji Joseph, who was implicated in the murder of popular Ogene musician, Chikezie Okezie Nwamba. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Inspector was found guilty and has been dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force. He has also been arraigned in Court for the alleged murder.
The trial of the Police Inspector, which was approved by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police for Zone 13, resulted in him receiving the maximum penalty of dismissal, in accordance with the Police Act and Regulations 2020.
And sequel to his dismissal, he was arraigned today, October 28, 2024, at the Enugu East Magistrate Court on murder charges.
The Chief Magistrate ordered that the former Police Inspector to be remanded in the Enugu Correctional Custodial Centre, and the case file has been forwarded to the Attorney General of Enugu State for further judicial proceedings.
The trial is set to resume on 12th November, 2024.
