Prof Agu Charges Board Of Christian Onoh College of Education On Diligence & Transparency

The Chairman, Governing Council of the Christian Onoh College of Education, Ngwo in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, Professor Agu Gabriel Agu, has charged members of the Board to be diligence and transparent with a view to building a legacy in honour of the founding father, H.E Chief Christian Chukwuma Onoh.

This, he stated while presiding over the Council’s meeting at the College’s Conference Room on Thursday, expressed delight on the enthusiasm and dedication of members of the Baord at the meeting.

“I am committed to ensuring that Christian Onoh College of Education reaches its full potential. I charge the Provost and the management team to implement the proposals presented today with diligence and transparency. Let us work together to build a legacy that honors our founder’s vision and provides a solid foundation for future generations” he said.

 

Also speaking, former President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, John Nwodo, who is a member of the Board, commend the Provost and the council members for their tireless efforts in shaping the future of the institution.

“As a two time Minister, I understand the importance of strategic planning and investment in education. I believe that Christian Onoh College of Education has the potential to become a hub for academic excellence and innovation in Nigeria. I suggest we explore partnerships with the private sector and international organizations to secure funding and resources, enhancing our infrastructure and academic programs. Let us work together to create a world-class institution that will make our founder, Christian Onoh, proud.” Nwodo added.

The Ex-Minister for Information acknowledged the efforts of the Provost and council members by bringing his expertise in leadership to the discussion.

He emphasized the potential for the college to become a hub for excellence
and suggested exploring partnerships for funding and resources and encouraged collaboration to achieve a shared vision

Also speaking, the Provost of the Anglican owned institution, promised that he would present a comprehensive plan for the short-term (six months to one year).

 

Meanwhile, the daughter of Christian Onoh and wife of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, and Nigeria’s former Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, Amb. Barr. Bianca Ojukwu, who is also a member of the Board, expressed happiness that her father has been immortalized by naming the college after him.

“My dear council members, I am honoured to be part of this meeting and to see the passion and commitment to improving the college. My father, Christian Onoh, would have been proud to see the progress and growth of this institution. He was a man who believed in the power of education and dedicated his life to serving others. I recall his words, ‘Education is the key to unlocking the potential of our youth and building a better future for our society.’ I urge you all to continue working tirelessly to ensure that this college remains a beacon of hope and excellence, a true testament to my father’s legacy.”
