Prophet In Police Net Over N.8m Alleged Deliverance Scam

A 52-year old Prophet, Amos Ojo has landed in trouble after he allegedly obtained N800.000 from a member of his church to embark on spiritual deliverance which failed to materialise.
The member,  Muyiwa Awoleku however asked for a refund of the money and Ojo told him that he had used the money to buy some spiritual materials for the work.
The matter was reported to the police and Ojo was arrested and charged before Ikeja Magistrate’s court with fraud on Wednesday.
Ojo, who lives in Waheed Ogunseye Street, Meiran, Ijaiye, Lagos and also uses the place for spiritual work, is being tried for obtaining money under false pretence and stealing.
The victim, Awoleku reportedly approached Ojo and asked for assistance to solve certain problem affecting his family and business which Ojo claimed it was spiritual.
Ojo promised to assist him and asked him to pay the money which he would use to buy certain materials and the victim paid.
After the deliverance process was carried out and the problem the victim wanted solved became worse. He demanded the refund of his money which Ojo failed to pay him.
The prophet was then arrested and charged to court.

He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
