A Nigerian US based football coach, Anthony Ushurhe has pointed out that only teamwork and commitment on the part of the players can make Super Eagles beat Ghana in final phase of the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifying match.

Nigeria and Ghana will renew their long-standing rivalry in a titanic clash in the final eliminator of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana will first host their perennial rivals on March 25 before heading to Nigeria for the reverse fixture four days later.

In a chat with our correspondent on phone, the former coach of Lagos based amateur one, Messiah FC remains optimistic that the senior national team would book a place in the World if the players show commitment and play like a team in both legs.

“ I have nothing much to say about World Cup qualifying match between Ghana and Nigeria but the only thing I can point out is that Nigeria can beat Ghana in Accra and Abuja if the players show enough commitment on the field of play.

“Secondly, I watched their matches at the last AFCON in Cameroon and I was impressed with the teamwork of the players. I think if they can continue in this direction, Nigeria stand the chance to qualify for the world cup stage,” he said.

Commenting on the team list coach Eguaveon released recently, the Delta born coach said he has no objection over the list saying that the coach knows the players that are good and fit for Ghana clash.

“I don’t like to object team list of any national team coach. The coach knows the best and he knows the best for the country. All I know is that we can be in Qatar if our players show enough commitment and play like a team against Ghana,” he said.

Ushurhe who has finished football coaching course in US  said it would be a national tragedy and monumental loss for the football family in Nigeria if Eagles fail to pick a World Cup ticket at the end of the day.
