The torrential rain that fell for several hours in Lagos Tuesday wreaked havoc in parts of the state.

The rain caused flooding under the Ikeja bridge while it caused mud slide in the Mechanic Village at Agidingbi.

One person was reported dead in the area where some people reside in the shanties built there.

The victim was said to be a lady from Adamawa State. Most of the occupants of the shanties said they fled from the North-East following the Boko Haram attacks on their communities.

Following the tragic incident the state government has vowed to demolish the shanties.

Babatunde Adejare, the state Commissioner for the Environment, ordered the demolition of the shanties
