Ramadan: Cleric Urges Parents To Rebuild Moral Foundations At Home

Posted on February 25, 2026
A renowned Islamic scholar, Ustadh Sa’eed Salman, has urged parents to take urgent steps toward rebuilding moral and spiritual foundations within their homes, describing the family as the cornerstone of a righteous and stable society.
Ustadh Salman made the call on Saturday while delivering a lecture titled “Restoring the Home” at the annual Ramadan programme organized by the The Muslim Congress (TMC), Ile-Ife Branch.
In his address, the cleric stressed that many of the social challenges facing society today stem from weakened family structures and the neglect of proper moral upbringing.
According to him, the home remains the first school of every child, and parents must consciously instill discipline, good character, and fear of Allah in their children from an early age.
He specifically charged fathers to reclaim their positions as responsible leaders and role models within the home, while urging mothers to continue nurturing their children with love, patience, and sound Islamic guidance.
He also emphasized the importance of effective communication, mutual respect between spouses, and regular family devotion as practical steps toward restoring harmony in the household.
“Restoring the home is not optional; it is compulsory if we truly desire a better society,” he stated, adding that a morally upright nation can only emerge from morally sound families.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Imam of Ife, Alhaji Abdulhamid Abdulsamii, commended TMC for organizing a timely and impactful lecture during the holy month of Ramadan.
He noted that the theme addresses critical issues affecting Muslim homes and called on families to uphold the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah.
The Chief Imam further urged Muslims to use the Ramadan period for deep reflection, repentance, and renewed commitment to righteous living.
The programme was attended by dignitaries, youths, and members of the Muslim community in Ile-Ife.
