Rapper YCee Bags Sony Music Deal

Nigeria’s rave rapper, YCee has joined Afro-pop stars Wizkid and Davido on the exclusive list of artistes on Sony Music as he signed a distribution deal with the international label.
Confirming the deal over the weekend, General Manager, Sony Music West Africa, Michael Ugwu, said the new deal will see YCee release his first E.P, The First Wave under the music distribution company.

“Ycee is the future of Hip Hop in Africa and will be front and centre of SME West Africa’s strategy as we take Africa to the World.
In 2015, 23-year-old YCee, born Oludemilade Martin Alejo ‘Jagaban’, a commercially successful song which thrust him into the spotlight.
“Sony Music Entertainment Africa and Tinny Entertainment announce exclusive deal for YCEE. Welcome to the family”, added Sony Music in a statement posted on social media.
The rapper/singer excitedly shared the news of the deal on social media, praising God for the “new chapter” in his career.
“It’s been God every step of the way and he is very much with us in this new chapter. Let’s get it.”
Ycee is the 2015 recipient of the MTV Africa Music Awards Revelation of the Year.
He also bagged multiple nomination at the just concluded MTV Africa Music Awards, MAMAs.
