A popular real estate mogul in Lagos State and Chief Executive Officer of Omolamina Global Ventures Limited (OGL), Otunba Kamorudeen Lamina, popularly known as Sir K Oluwo, has denied his alleged involvement in the unrest going on in Iraye, a village under Ogijo, Ogun State and had been referred to as a land grabber.
Speaking to P.M.EXPRESS at his office in Ikorodu, Lagos State, the estate mogul, who was alleged by some individuals as the one causing unrest and unleashing Policemen on the people in Iraye village, has asked if there is the possibility of an individual operating in two different locations at the same time and same day.
“I am into property and estate management. We buy and sell landed properties, I am not a land grabber. Land grabbers stay inside the bush! I’m an hotelier and also a dealer on vehicles. Before we buy any land, we must enquire from the family and State Government. Our enemies tag us with the name ‘land grabbers’. How can we buy a plot of land for N25million, N50 million and above and be referred to as land grabbers? We have decided with our lawyers to sue whoever tag us with that name.”
“Our businesses cut across the country; we also buy and sell lands in Lagos, Ogun, Abuja, Port Harcourt and other places.”
Narrating the allegation against him and the ordeals faced in his business, Sir K stated that, “On the 20th of September, was the very day I heard that Police Officers led by the Deputy Commissioner in charge of Operations, DC OPS Ogun State Command, Elewe-Eran, DC Sanni led team of Police officers to install peace at Iraye village due to the undue killings and unrest cause by some cultists and some individuals in the village”.
“The same people accusing me now of causing problem in the Iraye on 20th September, 2022, are the same people who earlier before now alleged Police Officers of causing problem and terrorizing them in one of their internet publications.”
Sir K further said, “On that very 20th of September, 2022, I had a Court case at Ilaro High Court in Ogun State. For your information, any day the case comes up, I always go a day before the Court date to be close by, which happened to be on the 19th of September, 2022. I was with my Lawyer and six others including Wale Kuji, whom I was charged alongside with. We left Lagos to Ilaro and I was in a hotel not too far from the Court premises with my people. From there, I attended the Court session presided over by Justice Oyajimi. Both charge sheet and hotel receipts of about seven rooms we collected are with me”.
“We checked out of the hotel by 8:30am the following day, 20th of September, to the Court. We left Ilaro and got to Lagos some minutes after 7pm in the evening.”
“Therefore, all the allegations against me are false. I have the Court charge sheet and hotel receipts, which anyone can go there to verify if I was there with my people or not.
Those alleging me to be involved know the ones causing trouble in that place.”
Otunba Lamina, who was annoyed, said one of the people causing problem in that place is called Ganiu Lateef a.k.a Eleda. He said that Ganiu is a terrorist and Police from Ogun State and Abuja are looking for him.
According to Sir K, Eleda and his cult group should be held responsible for any crime committed in that community due to his boast and claim that nobody can arrest him because he has a retired DIG from Sagamu as his back bone.
He identified the activities of the cultists as the reason there has not been any returns on his investment in Iraye. He said that the breakdown of law and order was perpetrated by many cultists, whom he said now come from Lagos and Ogun State to make the village their abode. The cultists were alleged to have forcefully ejected some of the elders, who were against their activities in the village.
Otunba Lamina, who was said to have been into property business since 2001, said that their sour practices coupled with the bent for compelling the company to pay twice for a piece of land, has really slowed down business for him and one of it is Iraye village.
According to him, “I bought 40 acres of land at Iraye in 2014 from Moyangbe and Bolumade Families with the necessary documents from both families. In 2015, some members of the family took me alongside the head of the family and some members of the family to Court over the sale of the land, which case is still pending at the High Court, Shagamu. This is one of challenges we faced in this business. As earlier said, those who charged them to Court are now seeking out of Court settlement”.
“Ever since the case has been in Court, I have not stepped my feet in Iraye for more than five years now and I have never assigned anybody there because they have turned the place to a den of cultists” he said.
Otunba Lamina also lamented that he has lost properties worth more than N500million due to cult activities and families issues in Iraye Community.
He further narrated, “Some of the challenges in acquiring land is that some members of the families will always deny that they were not part of the money earlier paid for the land and would request for another payment or disturb the construction work on the site. To avoid igniting trouble or obstruction of business, we often pay another money or we go to Court. This is really affecting our businesses as we often pay twice for the same plot of land”.
Asked how he deals with security threats, the real estate mogul stated that in all their estates, they provide robust security with good perimeter fencing.
According to him, “We also have mobile Policemen deployed to our estate and we ensure that every resident has a gate pass without which such person can’t have access into our facilities”.
Given the concern about the cult activities in Iraye, Otunba Lamina said that the Mayangbe and Bolumade families have involved the Police but the cultists also seemed to be backed by another Police authority because recently they also molested and shot a Police Officer with the Police authorities not been able to do anything about it.
Some pictures were shown how Police Officers left behind by the DC OPs were molested by the same Eleda boys.
Speaking further, Sir Kay challenged the whereabout of Ganiu Lateef, a.k.a Eleda, whom he alleged to be the cult leader. He challenged him to come out from his hiding and show himself to the Police. Other accomplices he mentioned were Yinka a.k.a 2ic, Sunny Orepe a.k.a Danladi, Dada Doyin, Anifowose a.ka. Sir K Offin, Elekun mefa, Murphy OPC, Mosuru Yalumo and Wasiu Aderibigbe a.k.a Epo. He alleged that these were the cultists terrorizing Iraye village and they kill people, dismember their bodies and nobody will see them again.
“These same boys attacked Policemen from Elewe -Eran and STS Police officers sent by the IGP from Abuja on a rescue mission in the same Iraye village and nothing was done about it. If they arrest anyone of them, it is the same Police colleagues from Force CID Admin that will call for their file and release them.”
“One Inspector working in the Admin Department of the FCID, Abuja, has been accused of aiding the cultists.”
Sir Kay said, “Policemen from Elewe -Eran has once arrested one of the boys for murder. The Police officer from the Admin Department of the FCID was said to have called for the file from the Homicide Section in Elewe-Eran. They took the suspect to Abuja and released him back into the community to continue to terrorize innocent people”.
“At times, same Officer will help the cultists to do a counter petitions to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) with phantom allegations which have no bearing with land.”
In conclusion, Otunba Kamorudeen Lamina is appealing to the Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, to look into the Iraye issue because all the boys there are cultists from different states and are non indigenes of Iraye.
“The atrocities committed by those boys are too evil to be let alone,” he concluded.
