Ambassador Abayomi Mumuni

Former Lagos State Governorship Candidate of the defunct Congress For Progressive Change (CPC), Ambassador Abayomi Nurain Mumuni, has written an advisory letter to President Muhammadu Buhari, expressing the urgent need for him to reconstitute his cabinet with a view to addressing all the shortcomings militating against his noble ideals, dream and vision for Nigerians.

Mumuni, a staunch supporter of Buhari while commending the President for his courageous battle against corruption, further emphasized in his letter the necessity for him to reconcile with National  Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, so as to avert negative impact the simmering rancor could unleash on the soul of APC.

“Permit me to say that for you to govern with legacy, you need to readdress every squad of people around you. This may be in the form of cabinet reshuffle and review of administrative set up so as to provide room to engage people with substance who can complement your efforts in bringing in investors and people with international network and business orientation. Such move may even require scaling down Ministry of Works and Housing and Agriculture Ministry within the schedule of a Senior Special Assistant to the President,’, stated Mumuni in his letter.

Mumuni, who is also the author of ‘Global Terrorism and its Effects on Humanity’ warned Mr President to be wary of some of his advisers who are out for personal gains.

According to Mumuni, “the agenda of the people around you does not seem to conform with your dream and vision for Nigeria. I am talking  here about those who ingratiate themselves with everybody in the name of  ‘diplomacy’ for personal gains.

“I think by our father-son-relationship which has spanned for almost two decades, and which had also seen two of us contesting on the same political platform, right from 2003, when I contested for Senatorial seat of Lagos Central  district on the platform of  the defunct ANPP, and  similarly  took a shot at the Lagos State Governorship seat on the platform of the defunct CPC in 2011. It is in view of this, and coupled with my unalloyed  loyalty and commitment  to your leadership and without singing my own praise that I think I would have nothing to gain if I failed to truthfully address you as a father.”

Speaking on the seeming undercurrent between Buhari and Tinubu, Mumuni, who has volunteered to play the role of mediator, said the two leaders of the APC must be reconciled before the feud degenerate beyond control.

“As a leader, I know you cannot allow this feud to continue. It is dangerous distraction that can only serve as a cog in the wheel of the progress of your administration. Such situation is what the enemies of your administration want, and it takes only your consciousness to nib it in the bud”, Mumuni pleads with Buhari.
