Reekado Banks’ Spotlight Album Tops iTunes Chart

Mavin Records Afro-pop rising star, Reekado Banks has scored an amazing feat by topping iTunes Chart less than 24 hours after the release of his debut album, Spotlight.
The debut is now the current highest selling album in the World Album category ahead of compatriot, Reminisce’s El Hadj which dropped two days earlier on Monday.
Spotlight, Reekado’s highly anticipated debut album went on sale Wednesday 31 August via iTunes and Apple Music platforms. But the physical album, according to the singer’s manager, Temiloluwa Solomon, which is being marketed by Ubah Pacific, goes on sale Monday, 5 September across the country.
Spotlight, which was released on the Mavin Records imprimatur, contains 17 new songs asides three hit promo singles released earlier including Katapot, Oluwa Ni, and Standard. It was produced by Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy as well as Baby Fresh and Altims.
Reekado Banks announced the release of the new work with an album listening party, held at Hardrock Café, Victoria Island, Lagos on Wednesday. The well-attended event attracted high-profile guests such as artistes and celebrities.
Mavin Records executives were present as well as its management company, Temple Management Executives led by Idris Olorunnimbe, CEO, Founder, Deji Olomojobi, General Counsel, Hamza Idris Kutugi, Chief Finance Director, Terfa Tilley-Gyardo Director Of Media.
Don Jazzy dressed in customized Spotlight Tees also led Team Mavin including Dr Sid, D’Prince, Korede Bello, Di’Ja and Baby Fresh to the gig.
Other celebs at the occasion include Lagos State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Folly Coker, Falz The Badh Guy, Shina Peller, Ajebo, DJ Cuppy, DJ Spinall, Banky W, Dorcas Fapson, Lola Rae, Jay Jay Okocha, Paul Okoye, Vector, Jaywon, Ushbebe and Terry Apala.
