Remo By-Election:  Senator Adeola Yayi Drums Support For Ayoola-Elegbeji

Posted on August 14, 2025

The Chairman of Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, has thrown his weight in support of the All Progressives Congress, APC candidate, Princess Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji, for the August 16 Remo Federal Constituency by-election arising from the demise of Hon Adewunmi Onanuga, the erstwhile Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives.

The senator recalled that about a month ago during the Remo Traditional Council Retreat, where he was a guest lecturer, he appealed to the traditional rulers to ensure that the APC candidate wins the by-election as the only way to continue and add to the projects commenced by late Hon Onanuga stressing that as the chairman of the Senate committee on Appropriations it will be easier working with an APC member for projects facilitations than any other party’s candidate.

“I want to appeal again to our royal fathers and all the eligible voters to do the right thing for the development of Remoland and beyond by casting their vote for Princess Ayoola-Elegbeji. Voting for her will not only honour the memory and good work started by the late Deputy Chief Whip but will ensure that the momentum of her development projects are sustained and built upon” the senator stated.

Senator Adeola further enjoined voters to vote for Princess Ayoola-Elegbeji as that will assure more delivery of the Renewed Hope Agenda initiatives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stressing that a vote for Ayoola-Elegbeji is a vote in support of more participation for women in the legislature in face of their dwindling numbers following the demise of Hon. Onanuga.

The chairman of the Senate appropriations committee, who is also the Caucus Leader of Ogun State National Assembly members in Abuja, said Ayoola-Elegbeji will give her constituents effective representation adding as a ranking member of the National Assembly that he will ensure that Princess Ayoola-Elegbeji delivers on her legislative duties and as well as effective representation.

“I support Ayoola-Elegbeji to represent Remo Federal Constituency as she is eminently qualified to represent the good people of Remoland as well as representing continuity of the good foundation laid by the late Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives in her effective representation” the senator stated.
