Residents Raise Alarm As Miscreants Occupy 2nd Avenue Road, FESTAC Town, Lagos

Concerned residents of 2nd Avenue Road, FESTAC Town, Lagos State, especially those on 202 Road, have called on the Federal Housing Authority, FHA Southwest Zone, to come to their rescue by ejecting illegal habitants on the said avenue.


The concerned residents alleged that the continuous presence of illegal habitants on the avenue is a threat to the environment due to their nefarious activities.

They further alleged that apart from open defecation, which is a health hazard, they also disrupt the free flow of vehicular movement and human movement.

Apart from the aforementioned, the residents said these unwanted elements also indulge in the sale of illicit drugs capable of destroying the lives of the youths, who indulge in the use of illicit drugs.


It was also alleged that even the walkway has been taken over by these so-called people thereby denying passersby access to their residents. The concerned residents, whose residence is directly behind the Avenue said in some cases they find it very hard to sleep at night because these illegal occupants trade all through the night.

The residents said several steps have been taken to dislodge the unwanted habitants, but all have failed, so the reason for inviting the FHA officials to do what’s needed.


Some of the residents had threatened to take laws into their own hands to ensure that these impostors were dislodged but for fear of the law governing the state.
