Rivers Deputy Governor Prof Odu Extends Eid Al-Fitri Greetings, Calls For Peaceful Coexistence

‎Rivers State Deputy Governor, Prof Ngozi Nma Odu, has felicitated with Muslim faithful across the State on the occasion of the 2026 Eid al-Fitri celebration, marking the end of Ramadan.
‎In a statement issued from the Government House, Port Harcourt, on Thursday, 19th March, 2026, Prof. Odu urged Muslims to continue to live in peace and harmony with their Christian neighbours during and beyond the festive period.
‎She noted that the State Chief Executive, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, remains committed to ensuring that all residents freely carry out their religious obligations without restriction.
‎The Deputy Governor added that the State Government is working in collaboration with security agencies to guarantee a peaceful and hitch-free Eid celebration across Rivers State.
‎Prof. Odu wished all Muslim faithful a joyful and fulfilling Eid al-Fitri celebration.
‎It would be recalled that Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is regarded as the holiest period for Muslims worldwide.
