Robber Snatches SUV With Toy Gun, Charms In Lagos

A suspected car snatcher, Emmanuel Ugbomah has met his dead end after he snatched a Toyota Corolla Car with toy gun using the native charms he procured to confuse and instill fear on the victim in Lagos.
The incident happened at Anthony Village area of Lagos where he rounded up the owner with the objects.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect pointed the carved object to the car owner, Adebisi Olalekan and she surrendered and Ugbomah drove the car away.
Police source said the suspect and his gang have been terrorising the area before he was arrested. It was gathered that while he was escaping, some of those present who saw what happened along the road raised alarm and pursued him.
He reportedly pointed the gun but was unable fire shots before he was apprehended with the gun and charms he had on him.
The car with registration number, KSP 567 CP was recovered from him and handed over to the Police at State Anti Robbery Squad, SARS at Ikeja State Command.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered Ugbomah confessed to the police that he had no gun and he decided to carve an object which he used to snatch the vehicles.
He also confessed that he used the object with his charms which he said instilled fear on a victim and he will have his way.
He also confessed that there were other suspects who were members of his gang now at large before he was arrested.
Ugbomah was charged before Ikeja Magistrates court for conspiracy and armed robbery under the Criminal Code.
His plea was not taken, rather the presiding Magistrate, Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi ordered him to be remanded in prison custody.
The court also directed the prosecutor, Inspector Simon to duplicate his file and send to DPP for advice.
