CYRIACUS IZUEKWE

A business woman, Mrs. Chinwe Ikweme, has lost her shop and goods worth millions of Naira after she employed a sales lady, Miss Jenifer Ezemba, who used charms to take over her shop and sent her away from Balogun Market on Lagos Island.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at 7/9 Martins Street, Bristol Plaza, Balogun Market, Lagos Island.
The victim, Mrs. Chinwe, reportedly forgot the shop and the goods inside to the surprise of many as Jenifer started managing the shop while Chinwe was doing nothing.
However, after several months, Mrs. Chinwe regained her senses. But before she went back to the shop, Jenifer had sold goods worth over N4.5m and converted to her own use.
The matter was reported to the Police at Okota Division and Jenifer was arrested and detained for interrogation, where she made shocking revelation over what happened.
During investigation, Jenifer revealed that she engaged a native doctor, who prepared charms that made the madam to forget her shop and she converted the goods to herself with the intention that her madam will forget her shop forever.
After intense interrogation, the Police found her culpable and subsequently charged her before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace and stealing.
She pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Kenneth Asibor, asked the Court to give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the offence.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.S. Okubule, granted her bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum.
She was remanded in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned till 20th January, 2021.
