Sales Manager, 6 Others Sent To Prison For Allegedly Stealing Employer’s N15m Property

The Nigeria Police at the Ikoyi division, Ikoyi, Lagos have arrested a Sales Manager, Security man and four others for allegedly stealing properties valued at N15 million belonging to Osita Onyekwere at the POWA Shopping Complex located at  Falomo, Lagos.

Police said that the complainant’s sales Manager, Somto Eboh, 18, allegedly recruited other defendants namely Nura Abu, 20; Joseph Igwe,19; Onyeka Ndiolo, 22; Wisdom Ndukwue, 22; David Ezeugo, 21 and Ikenna Nduife,to steal his employer’s Eco fittings, Eco pipes, mixer tabs and pressure reducing valves valued at N15m and sold it off.

Police further alleged that  nemesis, however caught up with the Sales Manager when his boss audited the stocks in his shop and discovered that properties valued at N15 million was missing and reported the matter to the Divisional Police Officer incharge of Ikoyi division, CSP Kehinde Adedara who directed his men to arrest the defendants.

The defendants were charged before the Igbosere Magistrate’s Court sitting at the Tinubu Magistrate’s Court on a three count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.

Police prosecuting Counsel, Inspector Hafsat Ajibode informed the court that the defendants committed the offence at Powa shopping complex, Falomo, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Ajibode told the Court that the complainant’s sales Manager recruited others to steal his employer’s properties valued at  N15m before they were arrested.
She said the offences, the defendants committed were punishable under sections 411, 287(7) and 368(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendants, however pleaded not guilty to the charges and Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Gbajumo Ayoku granted them N1 million bail each with two sureties each in like sum.
Ayoku adjourned the case till 17 December, 2024 for mention and ordered that the defendants be detained at the Ikoyi correctional facility till they perfected the bail conditions.
