He said: “The Africa Blue Economy Summit – Lagos 2025 is the catalyst, and it signals Africa’s leadership in blue carbon, regenerative economic growth, sustainable fisheries, ocean waste-to-value innovation, and coastal protection, positioning Lagos as the continental hub for innovation, investment, and collaboration.

“It will convene Africa’s leaders, scientists, investors, entrepreneurs, and youth around a shared vision for a thriving, inclusive, and resilient Blue Economy. It positions Africa’s marine and coastal natural capital not only as a critical ecological asset but also as a strategic economic resource for climate adaptation, job creation, and regional prosperity.

“As one of the core pillars of the Blue Economy Summit, the Thought Leadership Forum will anchor the event’s intellectual and strategic agenda. This forum will provide a high-level platform for policymakers, global ocean experts, financiers, innovators, and community leaders to share insights, challenge assumptions, and co-develop pathways for scaling Africa’s blue economy.”
