The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has indicated his administration’s desire to hugely boost agricultural productivity in the state.
Sanwo-Olu stated this at the Africaribbean Trade Forum in Georgetown, Guyana, where he was on a panel discussing food security, agricultural productivity and expanding agribusiness opportunities.
Other panelists included Dr. Patrick Antoine, Hon. Floyd Green, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining of Jamaica, Mr. Moataz El-Mokadem, Mr. Fayaz Shah and  Mr. Escipion Joaquin Oliveira Gomez.
Gov Sanwo-Olu highlighted that it is crucial to explore ways to boost agricultural productivity in order to meet the growing demand for food, while also leveraging the circular economy to ensure sustainable practices.
He said that by doing so, we cannot only address food security concerns but also stimulate employment, create opportunities for exports, and uplift rural incomes.
