Contrary to a report that the Executive Chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission, Dr. Kweku Tandoh monopolised the presentation of prizes and medals even when a high profile guest was on ground during the final ceremony of the recently held ITTF Nigeria Open Challenge Plus, P.M. EXPRESS can report that the story was not true.

Nigerian Aruna Quadri won the Men’s Singles of the 2019 ITTF Nigeria Open back to back after he was unbeaten to emerge winner at the expense of Austria’s Robert Gardos who he beat 4-2 (15-13, 11-3, 8-11, 11-6, 10-12, 11-1) in the final, while Russia’s Polina Mikhailova won the women’s singles title.

Many dignitaries who included Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, who is representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate, Director General of Lagos State Sports Commission, Mr. Ouwatoyin Gafar and a host of other table tennis faithful were at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere to be part of the closing ceremony.
