Senator Abiru Tours APC Nat’l Youth Secretariat, Commends President Tinubu for Advancing Youth Innovation

The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the newly unveiled All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth Secretariat in Abuja, applauding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for providing leadership that enables youth resourcefulness and creativities to find full expression.

Senator Abiru, who is the Chairman Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions, after the tour of the world-class youth centre, equipped with game room and social area with table tennis, snooker and other games; three event spaces of varying sizes for youth trainings and town hall meetings, a lounge, a boardroom, a multimedia suite/ podcast studio, described the feat as “nothing short of inspiring”, commending the purposeful leadership of Dr. Dayo Israel, the APC National Youth Leader.

He said, “I am really impressed with what I saw here today. It gives me hope that we have a generation which fully understands how the current world is evolving. You have created an environment where youth creativities will blossom, and a place they will be eager to visit”.

While inviting the leadership of the party wing of the ruling party to visit his iconic SAIL Innovation Lab, in Ikorodu, the lawmaker pledged to collaborate with the Centre, and make himself available for further youth engagement.

“Young Nigerians, driven by purpose and vision, are building ideas that can truly shape the future of our nation. “It’s a powerful reminder that Renewed Hope isn’t just a slogan, it’s already taking root. You have really raised the bar, by setting up a platform for our great party, Senator Abiru stressed during the panel session, moderated by Hon. Israel.

Senator Abiru spoke on his passion for young talent development, particularly in the area of tech, and digital innovation.

He expressed profound delight in how many lives are being transformed at the SAIL Innovation Lab, disclosing that over 1,900 young people have been trained in Tech Talent Development Class, and allied fields like Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.

He added that over 6,000 teachers had also been trained in partnership with MTN Foundation, under the SAIL Empowerment Foundation’s Teachers’ Fellowship.

In his remarks, Dr. Israel thanked the Senator for the visit and reaffirmed the APC National Youth Wing’s commitment to deepening political engagement among Nigerian youth, particularly as the country seeks to harness its demographic advantage for long-term development.
