Posted on November 14, 2021

The Chairman of Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Solomon Adeola, has commiserated with Chief Kayode Odunaro, the Baaroyin of Imala-Yewa and other members of the Odunaro family in Ilaro and Ishaga Orile on the death of the Chief Josiah Abidemi Odunaro, the Osi Ajiroba of Olu Ilaro and father of Baaroyin.

The Osi Ajiroba of Olu Ilaro passed on at the age of 98 on Friday 12th November, 2021.

The Senator expressed sadness as he said he was looking forward to the celebration of the 100th years of “Baba Olopa”, as the Osi Ajiroba is widely known, adding that the patriarch of the Odunaro family lived a good life with remarkable legacies for others to follow.

“If I go by the legacy of one of his sons, Chief Odunaro, who is my Chief of Staff and Media Adviser, then Baba Olopa did well in service of Nigeria as a Police officer from the colonial era to the post independence era and in bringing up a man like Baaroyin” the Yewa born Senator stated.

Senator Adeola said, “Baba Olopa” should be celebrated for his service to the nation, which took him to Congo Republic for peace keeping operation and service nationwide including such places as Port Harcourt, Degema, Okitipupa, Ibadan, Abeokuta, Lagos and elsewhere.

Senator Adeola prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of “Baba Olopa” and the fortitude for the immediate family to bear the irreparable loss.
