Senator Adeola Yayi Is An Original Son Of Ogun West Who Has Added Unprecedented Value To The District 

The Media Office of Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Ogun West) said its attention has been drawn to a misleading and propagandist story with the long title of “Senator Adeola Solomon is a Fake Indigene representing Ogun West at the national assembly, says Anisulowo” as published by one online medium “PenPushing”.

In a statement signed by Chief Kayode Odunaro, the Media Office said, “The story carries no byline of the writer as the writer in his heart of heart must probably be ill at ease of presenting a propaganda story of over six years old as contained in a video as an interview granted on December 1, 2024 by Senator Iyabo Anisulowo. At all events, the publisher of the medium is Mr. Oladimeji Kayode- Adedeji, a journalist of long standing and teacher/mentor of aspiring young journalists. In the absence of a byline, Mr. Kayode- Adedeji should claim responsibility for authorship of the vexatious propaganda”.

“On a good day, the office of Senator Adeola will not join issues with anyone expressing his warped opinion on any matter particularly during campaign seasons when such brickbats are part of the game for some challenged politicians without anything to curry favour of voters and public opinion. Rightly, when the interview was granted about 6 years ago, the office of the media of Senator Adeola did not see any need to engaged anyone expressing sheer emotions with muddled up and unverifiable claims. While one may take note of the angry barking of a Rottweiler, it is more productive to ignore the whimpering or even shrill barking of a Chihuahua in a manner of speaking.”

All through the campaign and eventual election and victory that was covered by PenPushing, the propagandist issues raised by Senator Anisulowo was silenced for good and today not a few Ogun West District indigenes are happy that an original son of the soil is now on ground doing what predecessors can only dream of in terms of attracting massive empowerment and development for the district.”

“Today, whatever the development claimed in the interview that Senator Adeola is going to reap from as an alleged non indigene has been surpassed in leaps and bounds with many thanking God for bringing back Senator Adeola to show what effective representation is all about. Among the massive and mega development attracted by Senator Adeola across the district in all sectors are road construction leading to the private residences of former Senators including Senator Anisulowo. So, on both the issue of indigeneship and Senator Adeola coming to reap from the development claimed in the interview, subsequent development has rubbished both conclusively.”

“The question now is what is the motivation of PenPushing is resurrecting an over 6 years interview and presenting such as a news story of today with possible intent to embarrass Senator Anisulowo? We are sure the Senator did not ask PenPushing to re-publish the over 6 years old story. Why would a medium present a senator as granting an interview with journalists without stating that the interview dates back to over 6 years ago? Foundational journalism teaches that news gathering and reportage must include the 5 Ws namely Who, What, When, Where and Why. What is the intention of PenPushing in completely hiding the ‘When’ of his story that has been overtaken by event? Only the publisher of the story can answer that question or explain his ignorance of time on the video he exhumed and unethically clothed as current. No doubt the intention must have been informed by some ulterior motives that can only be explained by the author. We leave the author to his conscience and the standards of journalism profession grossly avoided in the propaganda story.”
