The ancient city of Onitsha literally stood still as crowds comprised of well over 6,000 selected leaders of the various Senator Stella Oduah support groups, filled up every available space at the 5,000 capacity Archbishop Patterson Hall of the All Saints Cathedral to emphatically reaffirm their unalloyed loyalty to the Distinguished Senator and to unequivocally state their support for the candidacy of Senator Dr. Andy Ubah, the APC flag bearer in the forthcoming Nov 6 gubernatorial election.

Indeed, it was a tsunami of endorsements as the leaders, whose members cut across all polling units in the zone, took the microphone to restate their total commitment to the APC cause and happening at the same time the shock defection of Dr. Nkem Okeke, the Anambra State Deputy Governor took place, it was bound to reverberate throughout the length and breadth of Anambra State.

Senator Oduah, who has a firm grip of Anambra North Senatorial District, owing to her well oiled network of support groups which permeate every ward, every street and every polling unit, took the opportunity to collapse this awesome structure into the Senator Andy Ubah campaign and it is no wonder that the communiqué that emanated at the end, affirmed among other issues:

  1. To support and show complete loyalty to their Principal, Distinguished Senator Princess Stella Adaeze Oduah.

2. Commended the Distinguished Senator for her effective representation on behalf of the Zone in the National Assembly.

3. Commended the Distinguished Senator for the various empowerment programs/initiatives which she has brought to the Senatorial Zone since she assumed office as the Senator representing Anambra North Zone in the National Assembly.

4. In line with the current developments of the Distinguished Senator’s progression from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC), they declared their support and loyalty to her and resolved to join her- in the All Progressive Congress (APC).

5. Endorsed and supported the candidature of Senator (Dr.) Andy Emmanuel Uba- the APC Gubernatorial Candidate for the Anambra State Governorship election, come November 6, 2021.

6. Enjoined all their members and teeming supporters in all the polling units, wards and 7 Local Government Areas that make up Anambra North, to vote and support Senator (Dr.) Andy Emmanuel Uba to be the next Governor of Anambra State on November 6, 2021

.

The communiqué, which was read by Barr. Chigozie Chris Onwuanyi, the Director General, Senator Stella Oduah Center for Excellence and Promotion of Sustainable Good Governance on behalf of all heads of the various support groups who were present at the epochal gathering, emphatically put to rest the erroneous assertion of a divided house as it is now clear that the awesome and result oriented political machine of Senator Stella Oduah has taken center stage in the zone especially with respect to the Nov 6 election.

Present to witness the occasion were Hon. Barr. Mrs. Amaka Ebenebe, Princess Nwaka Ononuju, who represented the Distinguished Senator and gave a keynote speech, the Director General of the Senator Stella Oduah Political Movement, Chief Emeka (Small) Nzekwe and a host of other political gladiators all united by the unflinching loyalty and love they have for Senator Stella Oduah.

Another major highlight of the meeting was the lecture on “Good Governance- the key to Self Reliance” delivered by Barr. Chigozie Chris Onwuanyi were participants where subdivided into work groups as the Local Government representatives of the Senator Stella Oduah Center, served as moderators/lead discussants.

The work groups would later present their submissions on the “Features of Good Governance” and “Roles of Leaders of NGO’s/Support Groups in promoting and sustaining Good Governance and the interactive session that followed the lecture concluded that there was indeed a correlation between Good Governance and Self Reliance and that to have a self reliant nation, there must be good governance.

The session subsequently endorsed the Senator Stella Oduah model of good Governance which focusses on the welfare of her constituents through empowerment programs/initiatives.

From the presentation of decisions reached at the various work groups, the leaders of the support groups agreed that because of the wonderful and kind-hearted leadership style of their Principal, Senator Stella Oduah, they had a corresponding duty, which is loyalty to the Distinguished Senator, to support to her in all her political decisions so as to enable her continue to lead the people of Anambra North.
