The epic African drama Shaka iLembe is set to make a grand return to television, as fans are invited to relive the legendary rise of Shaka through a special rerun of Season 1.

Beginning June 1, Africa Magic Epic (DStv 152 and GOtv 6) will air three episodes on each of four dates—June 1, 7, 8, and 14—giving audiences another chance to experience the powerful story that has captivated millions across the continent.

Since its debut, Shaka iLembe has become one of Africa’s most celebrated television dramas, earning multiple awards in 2024 and reaching homes far and wide.

The first season tells the compelling story of Shaka’s journey from a young boy to one of Africa’s most formidable kings and military leaders, weaving together themes of power, pride, and destiny.

As anticipation builds for the highly awaited second season, viewers can immerse themselves in the full sweep of Shaka’s rise by catching the marathon rerun or streaming the season online via DStv Stream or Showmax.

The new season is set to premiere on Sunday, June 15 at 10:00 PM on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv 151 and GOtv 8), promising to delve even deeper into Shaka’s transformation—not only as a warrior but as a unifier and nation-builder. Season 2 will introduce new historical figures, explore changing power dynamics, and depict the arrival of the British and Boers in southern Africa.

Shaka iLembe is more than just a tale of warfare and politics; it is also a tribute to the women whose wisdom, strength, and influence shaped Shaka’s destiny and altered the course of history.

Audiences can manage their DStv or GOtv subscriptions anytime using the MyDStv or MyGOtv apps, ensuring they don’t miss a moment of the drama that has defined an era in African storytelling.

With the rerun of Season 1 and the premiere of Season 2, Shaka iLembe promises to once again capture the imagination of viewers across the continent.
