Single Lady, 37, Docked For Stabbing Housewife Over Attempts To Snatch Husband Inside Club

A 37-year old single lady, Linda Obigwe, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly engaging a housewife, Linda Nabila Sodeinde, in a squabble  over failed attempts to snatch her husband in a club house. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at 245 Club House, located along Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

 

The embattled housewife suffered injuries on her forehead, face and nose after the lady used a broken glass and inflicted injury on her. She was said to have bled profusely and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital.

 

The matter was reported to the Police at the Bar Beach Division, Victoria Island, Lagos. The Police arrested the lady, Linda Obigwe and charged her before Tinubu Magistrate Court for the alleged offence on a two-count charge bordering on assault occasioning bodily harm under the Criminal Laws of the State.

 

The prosecutor, Inspector Kofi Aodohemba, told the Court in the charge marked TC/18/2024 that the defendant committed the offence on 2nd March 2024, when the complainant and her husband went to the club house to unwind and the defendant started discussing with the complainant’s husband.

 

The complainant was not comfortable with their discussion and challenged the defendant to stop discussing with her husband. But instead, the defendant allegedly broke the glass she was drinking alcohol with and used it to stab the complainant on her forehead, face and nose with blood gushing out leading to her arrest.

 

He said the offences, the defendant committed were punishable under Section 173 and 246 (a) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Part of the charges read :”That you Linda Obigwe on 2nd March,  2024 at 245 Club House located along Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos did assault one Linda Nabila Sodeinde by using a broken glass to stab her on her forehead, face and nose which caused her injuries”.

The defendant however, pleaded not guilty.

 

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Omoyele, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000  with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses verified by the Court.

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
