Popular entertainer, Basorge Tariah recently signed two new acts, Nifty Boy and Bere on his record label, Solid Star Records.

In a well-attended media event to introduce the artistes officially to the public, Nifty and Bere performed some of their recorded tracks for the first time to the delight of the guests.

Nifty performed few of songs which include Mr. DJ while Nifty Boy also performed ‘Don’t Mess With My Girl’.

It was fascinating and unprecedented.

Speaking during the unveiling, the founder of the label, Basorge Tariah said he will be spending more of his time and resources to develop and invest in new talents.

“There are whole lots of talents in Nigeria and many of us that are in the system must be ready to give back to this industry. I have been here for 35 years and I can’t be a star forever. We need to give these young ones the space they need to shine. In the next few years, I and my partner at Solid Star Records will be committing lots of our resources to supporting and developing new talents in all the spheres of the entertainment industry,” Basorge said.

He also disclosed that aside signing on the two artistes; he also took the responsibility of providing for them.

“I believe every creative person needs a condusive environment to operate from. One of my artistes, Nifty Boy was based in Kaduna before I signed him. I have no other choice than to bring him to Lagos which will involve meeting his personal needs and shelter, same for Bere. I am also mentoring the two of them directly because we now spend quite a lot of time together and I believe strongly that they will learn quite a lot from my own experience in the industry. I thank God for the grace He has given me to do all these things especially mentoring the younger ones. I can say it anywhere today that I have discovered the stars for tomorrow and I won’t stop supporting other young talents”.

The two acts, Nifty Boy and Bere were also very grateful to Basorge and entire Solid Star Records crew for believing so much in their talents to take such a very expensive risk on their careers.

“We thank Grandmaster Basorge for discovering us and signing us on his label. It is a gesture we will never forget and we also know that we have to work very hard to take our deserved place in the very competitive music industry”, said Nifty.

Nifty Boy is unarguably one of the most promising Nigerian young talents.

Armed with a compelling youthful voice, this song writer, performer and producer’s claim to stardom could occur anytime soon. Uniquely gifted and very experimental, Nifty is adventurous, hence his experiment with different genres of music from R&B, Afropop and of course Dancehall tunes. The young artiste also believes that his ability to write and produce songs are part of his sustainability edge.

The second artiste, Bere moved from Ebonyi state to Lagos to pursue his musical career after his foray into fashion business failed due to the lack of resources.

His hard work led him to Basorge whose desire to connect with budding artistes is legendary.
