Soludo And Never-Before-Seen Educational Strides

There are things I see and I really do not get too excited about my Boss… I see them as self fulfilling prophecies. The only reason I write about them is not to praise him, if you know Soludo, you will know he is quite shy of open adulations. He just enjoys getting the job done.

An excited follower sent in this video on WhatsApp, dropping words of immense and sincere gratitude to Governor Soludo for, in her exact words, “taking education personal”.

She listed some of the following “never-before-seen” achievements in the education sector of Anambra State;

— Recruitment of the first 5000 teachers within 6months in office

— Increasing the imprest of Public School Principals and Head Teachers by over 100%

— Equipping School Administrators with digital skills and provision of 2000 laptops to commence the migration to tech-driven pedagogy.

— Completely FREE basic education for all Public Schools in Anambra.

— Additional recruitment of 3000 Teachers.

— Renovation of Public schools across the State

— Provision of Teaching aides and distribution of chairs and lockers to public schools across the State.

As a private individual, Governor Soludo did same for the schools in his local community. I wagered that he would scale things up in education. Especially as he has identified education as the indubitable pathway to breaking what he calls the “dynasties of poverty”, and enhancing Anambra’s greatest resource — her human capital.

I am not surprised, but roundly impressed.
