Aorah, an ethical and sustainable fashion label owned by Ms. Adaora Soludo, was selected as a finalist in the ‘Green Access’ category of the just concluded Lagos Fashion Week.

The Green Access is a sustainable fashion accelerator programme that nurtures young designers and drives the recommitment of resource efficiency, biodegradability, longevity and recyclability as guiding principles for fashion design and production. Green Access was launched in 2018 to spotlight fashion enterprises transforming their business models and embracing strategies towards a more environmentally, socially and ethically conscious production.

Aorah’s debut at Lagos Fashion Week 2022 is a mini collection titled “ogbanaonwe a” (it designs itself). A collection of love, inspired by the Akwete textile which it is named after. Her designs are ‘ready-to-wear and suits the craving of young and old female fashionistas. This collection is dedicated to all the women that worked endlessly to hand weave these pieces.

Recall that Ms. Adaora Soludo is the Convener of the Anambra Fashion Expo, a flagship fashion event that promotes indigenous Designers with the aim of creating an ecosystem where they can thrive and become globally competitive.
