The home of Chief Sir Engr. Chukwudi Chikeluba was filled with members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) drawn from the seventeen polling units in the political ward of Awka‑Etiti Ward 1. Chief Chikeluba rolled out drums in celebration to thank the ward members for delivering APGA and Governor Chukwuma Soludo in all the polling units in the just‑concluded November 8th Governorship election.

The event was hosted by a major stakeholder, Chief Sir Engr. Chukwudi Chikeluba, at his paternal home in Awka‑Etiti, where jubilant ward executive members gathered to show their support and celebrate their massive mobilization efforts for the party and Soludo. They were happy to have someone acknowledge and commend their dedication, and they expressed gratitude for the recognition of their hard work.

In his remarks, the host, Chief Sir Engr. Chukwudi Chikeluba (Ezenwa Awka‑Etiti), said he was delighted because his ward emerged first in the just‑concluded November 8th election. He said the ward members made him proud by working tirelessly for the victory of Mr. Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo CFR. He noted that for such a victory, he had promised to host the ward and also assured that he would celebrate the ward members again by December as well, in appreciation for their collective effort so far. Chief Chikeluba urged the governor to continue with his good works and wished him more successful years of good leadership.

At the victory party held on Sunday evening, key stakeholders and principal ward officers of Awka‑Etiti Ward 1 gathered to celebrate Governor Soludo’s victory. The Mayor of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Amaka Obi, extended her heartfelt gratitude to the ward members for honouring the event. She singled out the major stakeholder and host, Chief Engr. Chukwudi Chikeluba, lauding him as a steadfast promoter of good governance and a strong supporter of Governor Soludo’s leadership. She also eulogized him for his generous financial contributions and moral support that have propelled the ward’s progress.

Speaking further, Mayor Amaka commended all members of Awka‑Etiti Ward 1 for their relentless effort during the November 8th Governorship election, stressing that the collective drive enabled the ward to clinch first position in Idemili South. She explained that victory is measured by ratio: Awka‑Etiti Ward 1 contains 17 polling units, Ojoto has 40, and Oba Ward has 42. “Winning criteria is done by polling units and not wards,” she noted, urging polling‑unit heads and coordinators to redouble their efforts ahead of future elections.

Seizing the moment, the mayor announced that the ward’s first position belongs to Polling Unit 007, which recorded the highest number of cards. She pledged that Unit 007 would be specially rewarded, adding that “winning is indeed a thing of joy while failure is shameful.” She closed by thanking all APGA stakeholders in the ward for their unflinching support.

In their separate remarks, Chief Sir Francis Okechukwu, a major stakeholder of Awka‑Etiti Ward 1, commended Mayor Amaka Obi for her full dedication and contributions to the ward’s success. He urged her to continue her good work, never to relent, and wished her “more grace and power to her elbow.” Okechukwu added that the mayor’s visible achievements in APGA have been appreciated by the governor and other party stakeholders, noting that Mayor Obi is the “signboard” of APGA in Idemili South. He described her virtues as a gift from God and encouraged her to “keep it up.” He also thanked the ward members for their individual efforts, stressing that they fought like lions and remained resilient throughout the election period. “Money isn’t everything; passion and dedication is,” he said, before extending his appreciation to the host of the event for his generosity.

Former House of Assembly Member, Hon. Sir Ifeanyi Igwe, representing Idemili South State Constituency, eulogized Awka‑Etiti Ward 1 for their victory. He also appreciated Mayor Amaka Obi for the immense role she played throughout the election period, acknowledging her leadership as a key factor in the ward’s triumph.

He also thanked him for giving the ward with first position the sum of ₦300,000 in support and reward for their hard work.
