On behalf of the groups, he said, “We wish to commend Chief Dr Samuel Ogbuku for the great and noble initiative of convening a stakeholders summit, which aims to address the region’s development challenges and promote participatory democracy in line with President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda”.

“As critical stakeholders in the Niger Delta region, we use the opportunity the summit afforded to demand for the quick passage of the 2024 NDDC budget. We call on the leadership of the National Assembly to consider the many abandoned projects in our region and speedily pass the Commission’s budget to engender development and bring succour to our people.”
“The passage of the budget is crucial to cushion the effects of the economic crunch in our region. The National Assembly should therefore, do the needful as genuine representatives of the people.”

“We, as critical stakeholders, appreciate the NDDC for ensuring a successful Niger Delta Stakeholders Summit in Port Harcourt by guaranteeing a comprehensive and representative discussion.”
“We use this medium to reiterate our commitment to peaceful advocacy and urge the NDDC to address our concerns to avoid marginalizing vital voices in the region. The Commission should continue to ensure collaborations and dialogue among stakeholders in order to drive regional development as we are equally concerned about the summit’s legitimacy and effectiveness.
