The All APC Women Support Group (AAWSG) turned the Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, into a powerhouse of political energy on Saturday, 27th September, 2025, as it hosted its Southwest ’25 Summit.

From Ogun to Oyo, Osun to Ekiti, Ondo to Lagos, delegates arrived in large numbers, their party colours lighting up the venue and signaling the rising influence of women in Nigerian politics.
Themed “Empowering Women for Political Leadership & Grassroots Impact,” the summit blended inspiring speeches with strategy-driven sessions designed to strengthen female participation in politics, groom emerging leaders, and mobilise  support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The occasion featured the grand unveiling of the AAWSG Magazine, a glossy publication dedicated to showcasing the triumphs of Nigerian women, chronicling their stories of resilience, and offering resources for political education.
A high-profile award ceremony followed, honouring women who have excelled in leadership, grassroots service, and party loyalty.
Dr. Hon. Bimbo Okpere, Director General of the All APC Women Support Groups, described the Renewed Hope Agenda as the “heartbeat of national development.”
“Our indefatigable First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, continues to light the path—championing programs that deliver education, healthcare, and business grants to women through the Renewed Hope Initiative,” Okpere declared to loud applause.
She cited government-backed training programs and credit schemes that are enabling young Nigerians to “become architects of their own futures.”
Okpere also celebrated significant security gains, noting that “our armed forces have reclaimed territories once held by insurgents and bandits, allowing farmers to return safely to their fields and strengthening national food security.”
“We, the women of the APC, are the grassroots mobilizers and the trusted voices of our neighbourhoods. Our mandate is to inform, Energize, and mobilise—telling the story of new roads, expanded healthcare, and growing economic opportunities in simple, relatable language.”
“Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s steadfast leadership, Nigeria is firmly on the path of renewal. Let us carry that message into every ward and marketplace.”
Dr. Oyenike Saulawa, Chairperson of the Planning and Coordination Committee, underscored the Southwest’s historic contribution to Nigeria’s democracy.
“Our region has always led the charge for progressive governance,” she said.

She urged delegates to leave the summit not merely inspired but fully activated:
“We are not just planning a campaign—we are building a legacy. We are not simply supporting a candidate—we are shaping the future. Political participation for women is not optional; it is a national imperative.”
