Southwest Zonal Elimination: More Wins For Team Lagos As Tourney Enters Day 4

Posted on October 5, 2022
Athletes of Team Lagos are leaving nothing to chance to ensure that they win more slots for the state ahead of the 21st National Sports Festival which Delta State is hosting later in the year.
This must be the reason the athletes are gaining more upper hands in their respective sports at the ongoing Southwest Zonal Elimination for the sports festival, which is holding at Bowen University, Iwo and Lanreleke Sports Academy in Ileogbo, Iwo, Osun State.
Team Lagos came first in the male hockey event beating Team Oyo 1-0, while Lagos’ male team won the handball event 54-25 at the expense of Team Ekiti. It was also a victory song in the basketball event when the Lagos male team beat Team Oyo 51-28 points. Team Lagos, however, was not so lucky as the female team lost the handball event to Oyo 19-22 points.
It would be recalled that 192 Team Lagos athletes are competing in the |Southwest Elimination championship in seven sports.
The 21st edition of the National Sports Festival which was earlier scheduled to take place between November 2 to15, will now hold from November 28 to December 10.
