The organisers of the ongoing Jakande Estate Unity Football Competition have expressed satisfaction with the large turnout of spectators who witnessed opening match between Quiet Storm football team and Junction base football team.

The ongoing competition started a week ago at Jakande Estate Oke Afa football pitch, Isolo. P.M. EXPRESS reports that Junction football team defeated their opponents 1-0 in an encounter watched by a mammoth crowd.

The Chairman Organising Committee, Oluwaseun Adekoya said he was impressed with the attendance in the opening match, saying that the tourney is well publicized by media.

He described the tourney as a way of fostering spirit of friendliness and brotherhood among the youths in the Estate and urged the participating teams to shun vices that can bring the tourney into disrepute.

“We don’t expect such crowd in the opening match because we felt that the competition has just started but what we saw in the opening match was a clear indication that  Estate youths are interested in the round leather game and I am very grateful to them,” he said.
Adekoya thanked individuals and sport philanthropists who assisted one way or the other before the commencement of the competition and urged other sports philanthropists to assist them before the final of the competition.
Action continues tomorrow (Sunday) with two matches lined up according to the organisers
