Sports Minister Celebrates Nigeria U17 Women’s Team For Stellar Performance At FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup

The Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, has congratulated Nigeria’s U17 Women’s Team for their impressive victory over the Dominican Republic at the ongoing FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
The Flamingos secured a hard-fought 1-0 win, showcasing their determination and skill on the global stage. Finishing their group with maximum points, the Flamingos had to battle hard for the win, and Shakirat Moshood’s long range strike made the difference, netting a goal in the 88th minute.
Senator Enoh praised the team for their resilience and commitment, commending the players and technical staff for their exceptional performance. He noted that their triumph reflects the growing strength of Nigerian women in sports and serves as an inspiration for the next generation of athletes.
“The Flamingos have once again proven that Nigerian football is a force to be reckoned with,” the Minister stated. “Their victory over the Dominican Republic is a testament to their hard work, discipline, and dedication to making our nation proud.
