Star Lager Treats Celebrities To A Night Of Music, Football And Fun

Nigeria’s No. 1 beer brand, Star, on Saturday 6 May, gathered some of Nigeria’s most accomplished and celebrated music artistes, DJs and football stars together in Nigeria’s first music and football concert, to battle out each other.

The concert is the first of three concerts to hold at different venues across Nigeria as part of Star Lager Beer’s new music and football initiative, #StarMusicTheFusion, which is a series of music and football concerts that combines the fun and excitement of Star Music Trek and Star Super Fans Show on one platform.

The event which held at the Balmoral Marquee of the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos saw six (6) teams comprising of two top music artistes, a DJ and a football star compete against each other in a series of live performances.

The concert also had in attendance many Star consumers, football fans and music lovers who got exclusive invites to hang out with their favorite stars in an ambience of unending fun, excitement and music.

Speaking on #StarMusicTheFusion platform, Marketing Director, Nigerian Breweries Plc., Franco Maria Maggi said: “Nigerians love music, Nigerians love football and StarMusicTheFusion is Star Lager Beer’s unique way of giving Nigerians what they love and exactly how they love it. Star Lager Beer is big on delighting our consumers who coincidentally are millions of football and music lovers in Nigeria.

“#StarMusicTheFusion is a further show of commitment on our part to going the extra mile to giving our customers what they want even if we have to break new grounds as we have done with #StarMusicTheFusion which is the first of its kind in Nigeria.”

Maggi continued, “You saw the crowd that was here tonight. You saw the A-list DJs, music artistes, sports legends and celebrities that were here tonight and you also saw how much fun everyone had. That’s what makes #StarMusicTheFusion concerts special. This is the first of three for this year and we can’t wait to take it to other cities in Nigeria.”

A number of Nigeria’s most celebrated music superstars brought on the shine at the concert.

Falz, 2baba, Wande Coal, Yemi Alade, Ycee, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Simi, Adekunle Gold, Humblesmith, Kiss Daniel and MI Abaga took the stage as they competed in teams to win the Star Music The Fusion title.

Also on the teams were sports personalities, Jay Jay Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu, Victor Ikpeba, Anne Chiejine, Charles Anazodo, Colin Udoh and celebrated DJs, DJ Big N, DJ Neptune, DJ Sose, DJ Switch, DJ Consequence, and DJ Lambo.

The concert saw an exceptionally large number of guests gather to witness the teams of four compete for the title.

Star Music The Fusion is a manifestation of Star Lager Beer’s recognition and celebration of Nigerians’ love and passion for music and football hence the brand created a platform that uniquely combines these two to create a better football and music experience for its consumers as well as football and music fans nationwide.
