A 19-year old, Yusuf Suleiman, who was arrested and convicted  before a Lagos Court for stealing, has confessed that he actually started stealing from his early stage at about the age of 12 after he finished his primary school in Mushin area of Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Suleiman made the confession at the Ejigbo Magistrates Court where he was arraigned for burglary and stealing and he pleaded guilty to the charge.

The Oyo State-born Suleiman explained that he grew up at Mushin market and was able to finish primary school in 2012 before he became a bus conductor and then left it to become a thief.
He said he did not learn any other work because his friends were already working as conductors and it was easy for him to join them and became one.
Suleiman however, said he and some of his friends left the work and went from place to place to steal before he was arrested.
Suleiman was reportedly arrested on 29th May, 2019, after he went to No. 19 Peter Agha Street in Oke Afa, Lagos and burgled a shop belonging to one Kelvin Osokan. The police alleged that Suleiman and others now at large burgled the shop and stole bags of rice, a power generating set, cartons of Indomie noodles and other items worth about N200,000.
After his arrest and interrogation, the Police found him culpable. He was later charged before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court.

He pleaded guilty. The prosecutor, Supol Kenneth Asibor, presented the facts and asked the Court to sentence him accordingly to serve as deterrent.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.O.Shomade, found him guilty as charged and sentenced him to 12 months imprisonment without an option of fine.
