Stephanie Onusiriuka… Gymnastics Made In Anambra!

Anambra has been producing great sports men and women in Nigeria. Going down the memory lane one will no doubts mention Anambra state amongst the states that produce world class sports men and women that in their own times. Innocent Egbunike, Mary Onyali, John Mikel Obi,  etc. They all made Ndi Anambra proud during their different times.

In 2019 during the Nigerian Youth Games in Ilorin, Anambra born 8 years old girl Stephanie Onusiriuka was introduced to the National games where she grabbed several silver and bronze medals . She is youngest medal winner at any National Sports in Anambra. Little Stephanie was hot at the sports event.

In just concluded National Sports Festival held in Benin, Edo State, Miss Stephanie Onusiriuka  now 10 years old, shocked the whole sports world by defeating all the record holders, Olympians and even those that qualified to represent Nigeria in Tokyo Olympics. She won medals at all the games she participated. She is currently the overall best gymnast in Nigeria.

For one week now, the world sports media is filled with the news of our golden girl Stephanie. Due to age barrier, she would have qualified to compete at the forthcoming Olympic games in Tokyo. But with the zeal, strength and her skills, she will compete in 2024 Olympic games. 

Her ambition is to compete with world athletes. She is very enthusiastic to show the world her talents. Stephanie. With the improvements in her skills, she will compete for Nigeria in 4 Olympic games. Her age is a advantage. Stephanie has Anambra DNA in her.

With the support and providence, which the Governor of Anambra State, HE Sir Willie M. Obiano, provides to Sports Commission as at today, our 10years old Stephanie is a good & will stand the test of time. The good & quality leadership provided  by the Chairman of Anambra State Sports Development Commission (ANSDC),Chief Tony Chuma Oli, gives ample opportunities to Anambra athletes like Stephanie to excel exceedingly in their various sports.
