A 23-year old man, Tunde Isiaka arrested for stealing a motorcycle in Idimu Lagos has claimed that he was not a hardened criminal but was still learning how to steal after joining bad people in his area in Lagos.
Isiaka told the police that what he actually did was an attempt as he had not mastered how to steal before he was arrested.
Ogun State-born Isiaka said he has been jobless which led him to mix up with some set of people who lured and was teaching him on how to commit crime.
The suspect was arrested at Powerline Road in Idimu after he allegedly stole a Bajaj Motorcycle belonging to one Famigbo Idowu in the evening.
However, before he would escape, the owner raised alarm and he was apprehended and handed over to the police at idimu division.
His other accomplice escaped and are now at large.
He was charged with conspiracy and stealing under the Criminal code.
He pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs J.O.E Adeyemi granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 16 November 2016.
