Stop The Hypocrisy: Yayi Student Vanguard Blasts Mischief-Makers Over Transformer Gift Scandal

Posted on October 26, 2025

The Yayi Student Vanguard has come out swinging against the latest wave of propaganda targeting Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), describing the call for the EFCC and ICPC to investigate his transformer distribution project as a laughable display of political bitterness and hypocrisy.

In a statement signed by its Convener, Comrade Olanose James A., the group said the so-called “birthday gift scandal” was nothing but a cheap attempt by failed politicians and their media puppets to discredit a senator who has continued to outshine them through visible, people driven development.

“This is not corruption, it is compassion. Senator Yayi facilitated those transformers through legitimate channels to bring light to his people, not for self glory. Only the blind will call a good gesture a crime,” the statement declared.

The group accused the faceless sponsors of the petition of envy, desperation, and fear of Yayi’s growing influence across Ogun State, especially as the 2027 political calendar draws closer.

“Let’s say the truth, those shouting ‘investigation’ are simply frustrated because they cannot match his impact. While others are busy making noise on radio and social media, Yayi is making a difference in the lives of real people. That’s the problem they have with him,” the statement added.

The group also reminded the public that in all official reports and news stories about the transformer distribution programme which took place over two months ago on August 10, Chief Kayode Odunaro, the Senator’s Media Adviser, clearly stated that the transformers were facilitated by the Senator.

This clarification, according to the Vanguard, completely destroys the false narrative that Senator Adeola had claimed the items were personal birthday gifts.

“Those spreading lies should at least do their homework. Chief Odunaro’s statement has been public from day one. Nowhere did the Senator say the transformers were his personal property. He simply facilitated them for his people, and that’s what true representation means,” it added.

The Vanguard noted that Senator Adeola’s legacy of performance, from electrification and road construction to scholarships and student empowerment, has earned him the genuine love of the people, something his detractors cannot manufacture with propaganda.

“They want him distracted, but we say no. Senator Adeola must stay focused. These are the tactics of bitter men who fear progress. You can’t fight light and expect darkness to win,” the group continued.

The statement further reminded the public that Yayi’s style of governance has always been transparent and people-oriented, urging the senator not to dignify political noise-makers with a response but to keep working for the people of Ogun West and Ogun State at large.

“We in the Yayi Student Vanguard are not just observers, we are witnesses. We’ve seen how his projects transform lives. Those calling for probes should instead probe their own consciences. Ogun people are not fools, we know genuine service when we see it.”

The Vanguard reaffirmed its total solidarity and loyalty to Senator Adeola, insisting that no amount of blackmail can erase his developmental footprints.

“Let the hired attackers keep ranting. History will remember who brought progress and who brought propaganda. Yayi remains the pride of Ogun West, and no amount of lies can dim that truth” the group affirms
