Support Group Vows To Return Senator Victor Umeh In 2019

Saturday 21st April, 2018, was a special day in Anambra Central Senatorial District as notable political stakeholders in the zone declared their unalloyed support for their senator in acknowledgment of his bravery and fabulous dispositions in the three months he’s been in office.

The people who gathered at the Finotel Hotel Awka to mark the official inauguration of the National Executive Council of Senator Victor Umeh Support Group and the investiture of Advisory Patrons and Patronesses to deserving individuals expressed satisfaction with the performance of Senator Umeh in the few months he has been in office pointing out that the patience of the people in the almost three years of lack of senator/representative in Anambra Central was worthwhile as the vision and mission of Senator Victor Umeh for ndị Anambra Central and ndị Igbo in general is worth waiting for.

In his speech, the National Chairman of the group, Prince Uche Oduche expressed the readiness of the group to mobilize the needed support in every community and wards in Anambra Central to ensure the effects of Senator Umeh’s legendary performance is reverberated in all the nooks and crannies of the zone. He also disclosed that the group’s mandate is to ensure as well that the 7-over-7 landslide victory with which the people of Anambra Central unanimously sent Senator Victor Umeh to the senate on January 13th 2018 is repeated in the February 2019 general elections.

Prince Oduche charged members to eschew sentiments and anything capable of breeding compromise amongst the group, urging them to be diligent and purposeful especially as their brand (Senator Umeh) has distinguished himself through his actions, and has been ennobled and appreciated by the people.

The chairman of the occasion who doubled as the representative of Governor Willie Obiano, Hon. Barr. Ifeatu Obiokoye (SA Political to the Governor of Anambra state) commended the initiative of the support group describing it as essential in preserving the noble jobs Senator Victor Umeh has begun in the senate. Barr. Obiokoye allayed every doubt about the reelection of Senator Victor Umeh in 2019 affirming that there are no other candidates who can be bold and courageous enough to do the much Senator Umeh had done already. He further stated that Ohamadike’s escapades in the senate is endearing APGA to the people and an encouragement to the APGA government in Anambra State led by Governor Willie Obiano.

On his part, Senator Victor Umeh startled by the unexpected solidarity commended the people of Anambra Central for their continued solidarity and support, and their confidence on him assuring them of more work and greater days ahead.

In his words which were received in humor and applause, Sen. Umeh said “I have not started talking… We are just testing the mic.”

His speech was received in the people’s delight and intermittent applause as well as an ovation in expression of love and satisfaction with their preferred senator.

Also present were the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Rita Maduagwu and members of the state assembly; the state chairman of APGA, Chief Sir Norbert Obi, members of the Anambra Central traditional rulers council, members of the religious organizations, top government functionaries and party stalwarts; members of Senator Victor Umeh Campaign Organization led by the Director General, Prince Emeka Udodeme (Odegba) as well as highly reputable businessmen within and beyond the shores of Anambra Central.
